The brand new 2012 Ford Focus will be with us soon and will feature plenty of upgrades from previous models of the car. The first and possibly most interesting change that is being made to the series is the combining  the North American and International versions the of the car. This means that the models you see worldwide will all be the same. The new Ford Focus 2012 will also be referred to as the MK3 or Ford Focus MK3, mainly due to the change in the model being made available everywhere. This will be the first car that Ford has ever developed as a truly global product under the Ford banner.

The Ford Focus has long been a pillar in the fleet of cars that Ford has produced, the Focus is both reliable and priced within a decent range to allow for a lot of people to not only want to, but to be able to get their hands on one. These new additions to the 2012 Ford focus fleet will be no exception to that rule as they come with a powerful yet economic engine across the range, along with several other unique and desirable additions across the board.

Across the entire range there will be 7 different variants of the new Ford Focus 2012. Ford has boasted that all of the different varieties of the new 2012 Focus are very fuel-efficient. The new 2012 Ford Focus range will all feature Fords 2.0 Liter Ti-VCT direct-injection i4 engine. The engine is specifically designed to be both cooler and denser. This powerful engine also features Twin independent Variable Cam Driving which will adjust to give a more efficient performance at lower RPM and will give you some fantastic power when you press the accelerator down. The tires of the 2012  Focus range will also come with either standard 15” steel wheels or you can upgrade to 17” painted aluminium wheels on the high end models.

The range of the new 2012 Ford Focus will either have a standard 5 speed manual transmission, or on the more exclusive models you will be able to find Fords 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission which also has Select Shift capability, which allows you to be able to shift gear at the touch of a button. The automatic variants of the transmission are also designed to be smart when it comes to fuel while offering seamless gear changing and fantastic responsiveness.

Along with the 6 speed PowerShift, the higher end models will also feature sport-tuned suspension along with a voice activated communication and entertainment system. These models will also feature MyFord touch which is an eight-inch touch screen that allows you to control entertainment, communication and navigation at your fingertips, several of these features are also available to the driver direct from the steering wheel, so their hands never have to leave it.

The lower end of the range for the new 2012 Ford Focus will be able to get around about 26mpg in the city and up to 36mpg on the highway while all of the higher end Ford Focus 2012’s will be able to reach a slightly higher 27-28mpg in the city and around 37 or 38mpg on the highway.

The Ford Focus range has always been considered to have some of the most reasonable prices in its range. At one end of the spectrum you have the regular S Sedan Ford Focus which will retail at around $16,270 going all the way up to the other end of the range with the Titanium 5-door which will be available for around $22,765.
